Dr. David Samadi corresponded in daily news about women and menopause. He stated menopause is a unique condition that happens to women between the ages 50 to 51. Proceeded by the period of perimenopause, menopause is characterized by hot flashes, mood swings, weight gain, and joint pains. Also, some women experience osteoporosis, brittle bone disease due to low calcium production. Women who have had uterus surgeries like hysterectomy and endometrial ablation may not realize if they are at menopause. Dr. Samadi advised those intending to have a hormonal replacement to manage menopausal symptoms first to consult doctors. However, he urged on some lifestyle changes as remedies like weight loss, regular exercise, herbal therapy, proper dieting, and acupuncture.

Dr. Samadi advises on eight steps that men need to follow to remain healthy be sexually active. They include regular body exercise as well as practicing kegel exercise. Also, there is eating healthy food, having a routine checkup, reducing alcohol intake and not smoking. Furthermore, men should learn how to manage stress and never to take illegal drugs.

According to Samadi, the new hypertension guidelines of defining HPB as 130/80 means that over 50% Americans are affected. Therefore, Americans should change their lifestyles. They should reduce sodium intake, cut alcohol drink, chill out, treat sleep apnea and increase consumption of potassium-rich food.

As an Iranian migrant, Dr. David Samadi arrived in Belgium in 1979. He then shifted to London before settling in the US. He attained his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and medicine from State University of New York, Stony Brook. Later, he graduated with Medical Doctor Degree in URO-ONCOLOGY from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
